Changing the Icon Spacing in Windows NT
David G. Parnell
Just in case you've missed it, Microsoft has made it possible for you to adjust the spacing between the icons on your desktop and within folders--although finding where to make the change isn't as easy as it used to be in older versions of Windows. To adjust the icon spacing, begin by opening Control Panel. Double-click on Display, then select the Appearance tab. From the Item dropdown list, choose Icon Spacing (Horizontal). You can increase the horizontal spacing between icons by increasing the value in the Size text box. Likewise, you can increase vertical spacing between icons by choosing Icon Spacing (Vertical) from the Item dropdown list and increasing its value in the Size text box. Click OK to save your changes and close the Display Properties dialog box.
