We have a lot of tips that involve editing the Windows registry to make
Windows or a specific program behave the way you want it to. But it's
ªlways a good idea to make note of any changes you've made in the registry,
in case you need to go back to them. Fortunately, Windows lets you do this
within the registry itself.
Open regedit (or the registry editor of your choice), and make the changes
you need to make to a registry key. Then right-click on the key you've
¬hanged. Choose New-->String Value from the options. Put RegisteredNOTE in
the new string, then click Enter. Double-click on the RegeditNote string.
This will make the Edit string dialogue box pop up. Put in your first name
or initials, the date, and a short description of what you did to the key.
Then click OK to make it stay.
It's the easiest way for either you or someone else to find changed keys in
the registry and keep track of them, especially if something causes a
problem later on. |
