| Create a Shut Down shortcut on your desktop |
|
A Tip Universe reader sent this in: I don't know if Microsoft has found a permanent solution to the ever famous blue screen error when you shut down or the problem with locking up on the Windows Is Now Shutting Down screen. I have Windows 98 SE and almost everytime I shut down I get an error or it locks up. I found a temporary fix. What I did was created a shortcut on my desktop to shut down my computer. Within the last year I have gotten the blue screen error maybe two times. To create a shortcut, right click on the desktop and then click on new and shortcut. Then, in the command line type: C:\WINDOWS\RUNDLL.EXE user.exe, exitwindows and name it what ever you like. That should take care of it for the most part, until they find out what it is exactly and how to fix it. |
