Here's my problem: Every time I go to the Internet, my system is taken over by GoHip.com, which displays aggravating pop-up ad windows. For some reason, GoHip.com is my default start-up page. I changed the start-up Web page settings in both Internet Explorer and Netscape, but something keeps changing it back to GoHip. I uninstalled Explorer and Netscape and then reinstalled them. I searched the Registry for any occurrence of GoHip and eliminated one entry. I searched all files and eliminated any cookies or files containing GoHip.com. But it keeps coming back! How can I get rid of it for good? Paul Van Vleck
via the Internet A number of readers have written to ask about this problem. Apparently not everyone appreciates GoHip's "browser enhancements." The folks at GoHip.com recognize this possibility, and provide a removal utility. Go to http://www.gohip.com/remove_browser_enhancement.html, download the utility, and run it. Then follow the instructions on that page should any additional cleanup prove necessary. |
